Can only imagine what the current #nytimes headlines crew would have done with WWII. „Can Germany legally run Poland ? Here’s what to know“.

This is a good read if you're trying to understand the future in autonomous tech and AI. #rodneybrooks is a pioneer in #robotics and #ai (parent of the roomba among other things) and just an interesting guy. He benchmarks his 2018 predictions against progress at the start of every year. I find […]

if you want a break from politics for 5 mins, an incredible story of #lizards that effectively play #roshambo / #rockpaperscissors with their genetics. Kudos to a bunch of #scientists who did a lot of lizard #Sequencing to work it out.

Happy new year to all the #programmers out there. Already had my first datetime bug of the year. Software assumed 1/1 < 12/31 ignoring the year and threw away today’s datapoint on a medical device. This seems apropos

And I think liberals should stop taking the bait and ceding ground on immigration.

Immigration is good. Multiculturalism is good. Free trade is good. Stop being embarrassed to say so.

They want to wipe out almost a third of the country. It’s got nothing to do with illegal immigration.

It’s white nationalism pure and simple. They’re fascists, and there’s no reason to doubt it.

I was recently reminded of this.

A couple decades ago, I wrote a short paper that described how the basic approaches of cryptography and computer security lead to an efficient and practical privilege escalation attack against master-keyed mechanical lock, which I published in IEEE Security and […]

Great to see more biology labs with APIs, especially agent friendly ones. Props to #angstrominnovation for lowering friction doing biology.

aside: part of the reason bio research takes so long and costs so much is friction […]

Ok @futzle - late, but your 12 days challenge finally #nerdsniped me.. Super torn on the best way to abuse #fsharp. The dark horse approach would be to use simple loops but I went traditional, since it's #xmas season and just piped and tacit programmed it till […]

The wind and rain were insane around 2.45am in #sfba. House shook, dog broke all rules and joined us in bed 33mm/hr peak rain rate and gust of near 70km/hr #metric. with sustained wind of over 50km/he. It just felt like fire dept was hosing down the building.
