Otherwise I am probably not the droid you are looking for.
I thought RWers liked charities because they saw it as the sort of "optional taxation" they'd favour. But I guess any type of virtue is now just driving them crazy.

I think about this every time I fasten my seatbelt. Occasionally you meet people who believe seatbelts cause more injuries (or trap people in burning cars) than they prevent. That never widely caught on fortunately.

Well done. It’s pretty hard unless you can reach to the bottom ( which I couldn’t for our pickle barrels). I did find a video from some US preppers which was helpful.

Just finished our annual watching of “Scrooged”. Never disappoints. The clearly improvised parts are genius.

Got to be that way I guess. Old school, classy.

Crusts or no crusts?

Feels like sogginess might be an issue, many store bought sandwiches suffer from that.

What about a "SuperSoaker" filled with holy water?

On special at the Big Red Shed right now. Not sure about the holy water, I think that's the product of a monopoly.

Feels like something one wouldn't want to scrimp on. Be a bummer to only have, say, two stakes to hand when three vampires show up.

Not new but I recently read "Ball Lightening" by Liu Cixin ("Three Body Problem"). Great hard sci-fi and interesting insight into PRC approach to science and military.

No doubt ratepayers will be compensating for those lost sales when the new RMA passes.

Pretty sure this, along with a number of places , was run by the ZAP cult.

You’ll be able to apologise in person because they will call you regularly from now until the heat death of the universe.

Fine with their mission but their fundraising is dubious imo.

A friend speaks very highly of the overlocker available at Tūranga. No word on whether they have firewood but I suppose once we enter the book-burning era we seem to be heading towards...

Have used CityHop for cargo van recently ( and again this coming weekend). The app worked fine. Not so much going carless but certainly going tow-bar-less in my case.

Sort of like the Stephenson/Gibson cyberpunk vision but way stoopider.

Or were we just too young to know otherwise?

From a ship! First I’ve heard of that one.

We are likely at the maximum of Solar Cycle 25 but it will decline slowly over the next few years. There may well still be some big events to come.

If you've ever tried to sell anything on an auction site then you get some sense of the issue from all the "what colour is your blue bike?"-type questions.

I think there's not a good understanding of MMP. As if perhaps voting Green might "defeat" Labour and let National in.

Also this idea we must even have a Labour party as the major left party until the end of time. Parties do come and go (see the UK).
