Lors de la visite du président français Emmanuel Macron au Mexique vendredi 7 novembre, son homologue mexicaine Claudia Sheinbaum devrait évoquer le délicat sujet de la restitution de deux codex préhispaniques : le codex Azcatitlán, conservé à la Bibliothèque nationale de France, et le codex Borbonicus, qui se trouve à la bibliothèque de l'Assemblée nationale. Depuis 2024, les représentantes de la communauté Ñahñu au Mexique réclament officiellement la restitution du dernier.
