Lack of accountability for the outcomes of their decisions is a travesty. Musk admitting their justification was untrue fits a pattern—say something inflammatory to get what you want, then walk it back later. You would think that would upset supporters more than it seems to be doing.

When private funders are afraid of retribution by government officials for socially conscious and responsible initiatives, that's (one of the many current indicators by which you can know) when there's a big problem.
So to my friends who are HHMI-funded, are you going to speak out about this? HHMI is a private funder and does not have to follow the executive orders, and yet....

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.
