Mysteries of the hotel:

Why are hotel towels so much better at drying you off than anything you can buy for the home?

Who decided that the primary selling point for consumer towels should be "soft and fluffy" and not "good at drying"?

And what can be done to make them answer for their crimes?

Mysteries of the hotel:

Why is there marketing on the shampoo?

There are no other options to choose from.

I can't go out and buy it; it's exclusive to the chain.

And if I brought my own, I'm not going to switch b/c the bottle says "nourishing" and "provitamin".

Who is this ad copy *for*?

Serving size for normal eggs: 2
Serving size for deviled eggs: like a dozen

I'm making deviled eggs for thanksgiving and they're gonna be fancy.

Hit me with your best recipes. I have a couple good ones, but I want more.

Well, that's refreshing.

Just checked the election results, and every candidate and ballot issue we voted for won.

It's only local stuff, but it makes a difference.

First Halloween costume in ages: cross-playing as Mira from K-Pop Demon Hunters.

@davecobb.com Dude! You're on Leighton Night! That's awesome!

Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I'm very excited for it!

I'm playing Blue Prince, and I just got to a point where I'm nearly done with this run and I have 262 steps left.

Also, 18 small chests in the Entrance Hall. Lol.

Cirque's show Echo is beautiful and amazing and you should definitely go see it if you can.

Also, then you'll be able to understand when I ask, "which did you like better, Juggling Sky Wolf or the Triple Red Ant Pole Dancers?"

As always, Cirque du Soleil is just astonishing.

Like, oops, forgot to clap because I'm too busy gawping at the spectacle.

The more I travel, the more I appreciate the water pressure in our shower at home.

No Kings protest today. Not even the big one downtown, just the local one for my suburb, and we had several hundred people waving flags and signs around a big intersection.

I just finished re-reading @dlelandwhite.bsky.social 's book Exile In Guyville. It's very funny and I enjoyed it very much. And I admit, I got a little choked-up at the end.

Thanks, Dave. You're a good writer, and if you ever write another one, I'll buy it for sure.

Pierre Novellie is a very funny British standup comedian.

I highly recommend this special of his. Especially if you're neurodivergent in some way.

I've been sorting through a bunch of old email, and it reminded me: I know a lot of really excellent people.

If you're reading this: you're awesome, and I love you.

I fixed the sewing machine!

The bobbin casing was out of place.

Also, I learned how to operate the sewing machine!

Now I need to do a bunch of ironing. :-/

(I am converting a bunch of long-sleeved shirts to short-sleeves, because I hate it when they cling to my forearms.)

I honestly believe all LLM results should come with a disclaimer reminding people that the thing doesn’t (and absolutely cannot) know any facts or do any reasoning; it is simply designed to *sound* like it knows facts and frequently sweeps some up accidentally in the process.
I really think many if not most of the LLM fail cases are people trying to use it as a search engine. It is the opposite of a search engine.

Python is a very stateful language, and I do not like it.

(This post brought to you by the copy.deepcopy() function, which you need to get an actual *copy* of something and not just an alias pointing to the original.)
