Rural Canadian. Formerly urban Canadian. Stuck in a pothole at the intersection of writing, photography, birds, bees, computer programming, and data science.
Why would you frame this like a serious question worthy of consideration, though? Do better, Castanet...

Yep. I brought my lappy along and tucked into working a bit at my 'day job' when she was at the table.

Hmm, I've only made bagels once since I made those posts. I should get baking.

Enjoy your sourdoughs!

If he keeps this up, he'll be one and done. And you're right, he's not a politician, which means he's probably the kind of asshole who would resign his seat and go back to the private sector if he can't play PM anymore.

See, this is some bullshit right here. If it's your land in question, and your jurisdiction in question, you get a seat at the table no matter what you've 'signalled'.

If the pipe is so damn important, propose running it east. See what kind of support gets signalled there...

He appears to be shaping up as one of those fools who thinks the government should be run like a big business.
November 27, 2025 at 11:50 PM
And since he won't, I'll take him at his word that he wants another useless pipeline built. If we wanted a Con government, I think we would have voted for it. The Libs got a lot of votes they otherwise wouldn't have, because of ABC. They will not receive that kind of magnanimity again.

He's not communicated his big 'plan' with anyone, including the most important stakeholders, ie: the BC government, the First Nations who's land any pipeline would need to travel through, and even his own bloody cabinet ministers. Incredibly lame that Carney won't just be straight with anyone.
November 27, 2025 at 11:41 PM
WTF?! That's completely asinine. Good way to create a chilling effect and make sure our already dismal voter turnout nosedives even further?
November 27, 2025 at 2:00 AM
Yup. I'm probably old enough, and DGAF enough now to get myself arrested over this one.

Yer a good man, John.

They're damned if they do, and damned if they don't. Literally no one wants another election. And historically, voters punish the party(ies) that force an unwanted election. They would credibly lose the 7 seats they do have if they pushed it.
November 18, 2025 at 1:54 AM
And I genuinely hope they are able to. It will be a tough go given so many self-prescribed 'leftists' can't seem to wrap their heads around the fact Carney is basically a Harper con, and lash out when you try to point that out to them.

Also a big x factor concerning Con leadership in play.

Davies is politicking here as much as anyone else. The federal NDP are broke and cannot afford another election. His 'for the good of the country' rhetoric is a bit disingenuous. The budget is garbage, no doubt, but let's not pretend this abstention to prevent an election isn't also self-serving.
