I've lived in this place for nearly 30 years and it took until 5 years ago to make a friend I can actuslly count on. And he's moving.

I'm happy for him, genuinely. He's doing it for love, his career, and his life. It's great stuff.

But fuck I'm gonna miss seeing him every week.

You may be right, Linux user, but the fact you're so smug about it makes me disinterested.

Republicans may get a little indignant, but generally they don't care because they do what they want.

Democrats on seem genuinely affronted that they'll make no changes, or make things worse, and don't get praised for it.

The best it can do is fool me for maybe a minute, but when I realise I just feel like I've been tricked.

So even if it tricks me, I still leave with a negative impression.

That's how I feel.

Republicans have their devout followers who will not hold them to task. Democrats don't. They get into power when they promise things people want, and they lose power when they fail to deliver.

They need to learn how to earn a goddamn vote, and not just expect it.

Every now and then I remember it and feel like giving it another go, since I'm older now and not a stupid 15 year old.

I'm hoping something similar happens here. Our Green Party is looking interesting. Finally a potential option for the left to vote for.
