Hello new followers.
I’m Andy - an illustrator of dragons, dinosaurs and other extinct animals. I work in both traditional and digital media, and am a passionate advocate for human-made art. You can find all my work, purchase my books and contact me here: www.andyfrazer.com
A digital illustration of a tiny red and green dragon perched on a leaf. A digital illustration of a large, brown tyrannosaurus, sat on a muddy shoreline, gazing across a lake with tall trees around its shore. A pencil sketch of two large dinosaurs, affectionately nuzzling. A digital illustration of a herd of woolly mammoths walking into a fierce blizzard in a white-out.

Words that I am increasingly using about pretty much everything these days. 🫤

I mean they could have perfectly valid reasons (a shy introvert perhaps). But it’s just sad… and I’m not exactly intimidating!!!

Watching someone in my replies on Twitter asking Grok AI questions about my work (sensible, valid questions)… and wondering why they don’t just… y’know… ask me??! Just one more way that AI is eroding the artist/audience connection.

Speaking on behalf of all artists everywhere:
No, we don’t. 😉

Next time you’re feeling a bit stupid and useless, console yourself with the knowledge that you will never, even on your worst day, be as irredeemably stupid and useless as Google’s AI.
Screen shot of a Google AI response which reads:
“A T. rex would be around 29 million years old today if it still lived, but the species lived 69 to 66 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous period. While scientists don't know the exact lifespan of every T. rex, some fossil evidence suggests they could live for about 28 to 30 years.”

Named 120 years ago today.
Tyrannosaurs rex.
One of my recent illustrations of a large tyrannosaur, with grey body and orange head and throat.

I have re-opened my pencil palaeo-portrait commissions for a very limited period. If you’d like one, just head over here: dragonsofwales.etsy.com/listing/1760...
Examples of my pencil sketch portraits of various dinosaurs.

Yes. But I’ve already done that. 😉

Komodosaurus. A genetically modified monitor lizard, engineered to mimic the appearance of a theropod dinosaur. Very popular amongst wealthy collectors, and a very, very bad idea.

Dinosaurs going cheap (and “rawr!” obviously).
Also, for those of you in the US there has been a lot of confusion about tariffs recently. My books are tariff-free, and cost the same now, as they always did! So grab yourself some dinosaurs here: dragonsofwales.etsy.com/listing/1689...
A promotional picture of the Ex|Terra Collection: 3 small art books featuring hundreds of my dinosaur illustrations, currently with 25% off!

I’ve just finished reading the most fascinating article about wooly mammoths (spoiler: they might not have looked like we thought..) on @markwitton.bsky.social ‘s Patreon page. It’s not expensive, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the same things that I am. www.patreon.com/markwitton

Back in the very, very early ‘80s toddlers could go through that gap at the base of the tree & sit inside the hollow trunk but the last 40+yrs of growth mean that you can’t do that anymore. Mind you, it’s starting to resemble somewhere you’d find one of @dragonsofwales.bsky.social dragons
A still living tree (no idea of species) that has grown twisted over the years & has hollows & gaps in the trunk, covered in lichen. Its base is approx 4-5ft wide A close up of the still living tree (no idea of species) that has grown twisted over the years & has hollows & gaps in the trunk, covered in lichen. That sounds very much like a description of me (not the “cute” part). 😂

Thank you for the mention. Very much appreciated 🙏

Apologies to @dragonsofwales.bsky.social for the rushed photo
But also, a big thank you for doing these alongside everything else.
I can't wait to get these up on my gallery wall through the year!
A pretty awful photo of part of the back of a callendar showing three thumbnail images of small dragons.
This is @dragonsofwales' 2026 calendar, titled FIERCE

Of all the UK nations, Scotland has always been ahead in this regard. The causes of xenophobia in Wales are, I think, subtly different to England, but the consequences are just the same. I am so sorry and ashamed that your family feel anything other than welcome, needed and appreciated.
