Y’all my tiny jewelry empire is absolutely out of control and I have NO SPACE to make new things, so I am running a dice sale to get the old stuff out of the way TO MAKE MORE STUFF

So the impression I’m getting is this production is objectively perfect

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

Dystopian fiction promised me evil geniuses, god damn it

Honestly I think what social media has changed is everyone ELSE’S awareness of it, not necessarily the parasociality itself. From a jrock perspective (my teen fandom), when Hide died in 98 there were a frankly terrifying number of copycat suicides.

This is in my personal experience correct!

I am not allowed to SAY whether or not I have served on a grand jury, but I CAN say that I have specific personal experience that prosecutors absolutely do not bring charges to a grand jury without being 99% sure they will be actionable. These people are SO BAD at their jobs. So, so bad.

The ears make him beat out Sweetums for favorite by the thinnest of hairs.

Totally agreed! It definitely feels like a lot of important beats got cut to fit that really boxed-in 90 minute run time.

My first reaction was also that it was a waste and he didn’t need to die, but after sitting with it for a while my thoughts are that he was *already* dead and the question was what happened to his spirit. With that framing, his choice to add his power to Rumi’s doesn’t feel so wasteful to me.

My kids are twelve and fifteen and both loved it, like the sheer breadth of appeal even within the target market is staggering

Blue is my favorite color generally but you are also probably connecting to my twenty years of Warcraft dragon blather. 😂

Mel Lockett at Hart & Huntington in Nashville! She shaded every individual scale, it’s so incredible.

So I’ve had a very exciting day.
Closeup of a fresh tattoo on pale skin: a blue-toned dragon with spreading wings and a curvy tail with detailed scales in linework. It looks like a Carl Larsson painting. It’s incredible. I’m so happy.

I really really wish people in other countries who paternalistically lecture the US about how a general strike will fix everything wrong here will make even the smallest, tiniest effort to read up the scourge of health insurance tied to at-will employment.

ADHD arithmetic: I need to set this down in the workshop real quick before breakfast + I wonder if using different sponge sizes will solve my problem painting this box = holy shit when did it become eleven o’clock
A fancy deco steampunk hardcover book-shaped box covered in gears and swooshes painted in different shades of metallic copper and bronze. Different-sized sponges did indeed solve the problem!

There was a pizza place down the street from my childhood home and Dad ALWAYS ordered the same thing. One weekend he was out of town and we ordered something different; the owner called back IMMEDIATELY and demanded reassurance that nothing was wrong.

Social anxiety is a hell of a drug in general, but getting scared that the staff at your favourite restaurant or coffee shop will realise you're an autistic weirdo who eats the same thing every day is especially wrongheaded. Food service people LOVE autistic weirdos who eat the same thing every day.

It absolutely does! For these tiny things I use Posca markers and it’s GREAT.

3D printed in partial color and then handpainted details!

Yes hello my tiny jewelry empire has a new citizen in testing today!

I inset his stripes so they’d be easier to paint but I am not sure it worked, ditto with how small his little pink ear sets are. I also need to find a 1MR Posca in dark blue so I can outline his ears, lol
Exquisitely tiny KPDH tiger stud earrings, bright blue with silly white fangs and sunset eyes. They are 20mm wide and 10mm tall with hand-painted details and they are GREAT, seriously just the cutest.
