Personally, I’m fine with the government preferring immigrant groups that promote national identity and social cohesion. Groups like …[checks notes] … the Vikings?

It can’t be pointed out enough that these same people spent *decades* going into hysterics over the merest suggestion that resources be conserved or simply not wasted.

Now I get why their union went with “mineworkers.”

Eh, we’re into our third or fourth decade of conflating “masculinity” with “acting like a 12-year-old boy.”

Majority age for Black people keeps going down; minority age for whites keeps going up.

Had a couple gym teachers who used to flip out at anyone who did that leg assist thing he’s doing.

A Constitution isn’t worth much if its clear dictate of 2+2=4 can be creatively interpreted as saying 2+2=5 by political hacks posing as impartial justices. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that if Trump wins on this, America will effectively be a post-constitutional state.

Not a big believer in IQ but assuming it’s real I’m proposing a minimum 10-point deduction for a callback to the same rhetoric used against your own ancestors when they washed up here after being smeared by the British government as too stupid, lazy, and drunk to feed themselves, hence the famine.

It’s possible that “back burner” refers to Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s influential “benign neglect” memo, which reflected a general establishment consensus to abandon race-based policymaking aimed at remedying past discrimination.

My guess is the people pressing for an end to birthright are well aware of the many potential downsides but see a bigger upside in a world where one’s citizenship is at the pleasure of the executive, and where a Democratic President would be unlikely to use such authority even if they had it.

Must assume that *legislative* gerrymanderers were acting in good faith. Presumably this gives them an out to strike down or at least freeze California’s voter-driven redistricting.

Protip: if you can flip a boat it’s probably not “loaded” with anything.

They’re too cowardly to issue actual precedential decisions they know will be part of the law school anti-canon in 20 years so they’re trying to bully the district courts into doing their dirty work by signaling their preferences via the shadow docket, but nobody’s biting, hence the petty sniping.
December 5, 2025 at 12:39 AM
So better-than-decent odds they freeze California’s redistricting until at least after the midterms on racial grounds, right?

The American military was desegregated and had black officers decades before Jim Crow (apartheid) stopped being the law in vast swaths of the U.S.

Everyone who says stuff like this has a staff of indentured servants and counts their daily trips to the company gym and luxurious comped lunches as “work.”
