Innocent children drowned to death in the Texas Hill Country.

The federal and state government failed them.

What are Donald Trump, Governor Abbott and House Republicans doing about it?

They are focused on gerrymandering the Texas congressional map and rigging the election.

It would really be great if, when journalists are interviewing Stephen Miller, who goes off a tirade on courts curbing executive power, could ask, What article of the Constitituon grants the power to:

1. Control immigration
2. Regulate international commerce
3. Suspend habeas

Damn. This is dramatic. I had heard a couple days ago that a Nadler staffer had been arrested but was waiting for confirmation. So now we know what happened; ICE officers barged into the district office trying to arrest other people, handcuffed a staffer who pushed back, then let her go, no arrest.

There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd.

A big win! A panel of judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit just blocked the Trump administration’s push to move forward with massive layoffs. The court denied the government’s request to overturn a lower court ruling, meaning the layoffs can’t happen, for now.

Stephen Miller sure seems to be speaking for the White House a lot.
BROWN: “Does that mean Trump doesn't support picking Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court?”

MILLER: “We're not going to be using the Federalist Society to make judicial nominations at all going forward.”
