I am heartbroken for Brown and the students, staff, and faculty who have to get through this. I hope they have everything they need to navigate such senseless brutality.

I wish I had been able to go to hear the St. Louis Symphony as a child--especially when Slatkin was the principal conductor. (I'm old enough to remember when he was the assistant conductor--I believe under Walter Susskind.)

Too many think an undigested large quote is an argument. I also noticed students making assertions in papers without specifics. And unassigned texts.

One grandmother was denied entry to Berea College because of state law and persisted. Another lost her husband to a farming accident and survived the Great Depression. An animated hologram would denigrate what they survived and accomplished.
