My take:
Our Prime Minister probably shouldn't openly & directly condemn Trump's imperial ambitions, as that compromises Canada's safety and leverage.
Such open criticism is the job of the "Loyal Opposition", which would not reflect on the country.
But here, our Opposition is Trump sycophants.
