My father had decided to get circumcised when he was in his 30s. (For reasons you can ask him about when you see him in the Afterlife). In his 80s, I asked him, "Didn't it hurt?"

He glared at me. "In all these years, no one has ever asked me that."

"And?" I asked.

"IT HURT LIKE BLOODY HELL!"

In one of my weirder brushes with "celebrity", some years ago, in typical RW trollish fashion, Dinesh D'Souza called me some names online. I chose not to clapback since he'd already dated both Laura Ingraham and Anne Coulter. Life had already punished him for me, I reasoned.

In addition, There’s no reliable signal that communities practicing circumcision have higher ASD diagnosis rates than those that don’t. Observed prevalence differences are best explained by diagnostic & health system factors, not by the practice of circumcision.

Plus it was an observational study, incapable of establishing causality. Rebuttals to this study include this one, which stated:

"Most likely, both autism spectrum disorder diagnosis and early circumcision reflect parental conscientiousness."

Where is this coming from? From a single Danish observational study in 2015 that showed higher ASD diagnoses in circumcised boys before age 10. But it did not control for culture of differential diagnoses.
