I occasionally look at GFS models (a US weather prediction computer model- others are available). This for 26th June caught my eye - 40C in London 39C in Sheffield. We'll see but that is extreme for any time let alone late June x.com/TWOweather/s...

My Phyllostachys nigra 'Boryana' has flowered after 2 decades. Have collected the seeds. I'm unsure of the best way to propogate them. Anybody have an experience of this?

Spent most of April in South Korea visiting my youngest who works there and absolutely loves it. A modern, vibrant, cultured, high trust, organised society with breath-takingly good public transport, high-rise cities and stunningly beautiful countryside.

60-80 Mandarin Ducks, some Mallards and a Heron hanging out on River Sheaf at Broadfield Road Sheffield. Why here? It's a concrete culvert, virtually no vegetation and really fast moving.
