Hi Tim I would just block Daniel. He argues in bad-faith and always resorts to abuse, apparently I am a 'white supremacist' for pointing out that both Hamas & Netanyahu are both land maximalists. Hard to figure that I am an ethno-nationalist but there you go - he throws stuff like this out.

And yet you are unable or unwilling to address the substance. Hamas and Netanyahu are land maximalists - two sides of the same coin & both want to scupper any talk of a 2 state solution.

I preferred it when Americans actually had a credible standard of education and were able to address a clear issue with out rambling tangetially. Here is an Israeli source setting out Netanyahu's 'alliance'with Hamas.

Well that is what Irgun described itself as. As for Hamas they are faction within the Palestinian population that had ruthlessly attempted to eliminate Fatah - and as a consequence got support from Netanyahu as part of his 'divide & rule' strategy. Ironic really

The Irgun were the National Military Organization in the Land of Israel (Zionist militants they were often described as) & yes they did kill Arabs as well as Britsh - 107 including women and children in an attack on the village Dier Yassin in 1948.

A reminder that in 1947 around 400 Britians were killed by Irgun including the hanging of two abducted soldiers & the Goldsmith club with 13 killed. At the time it led to widespread anti-Jewish rioting in the UK, but to some extent it worked as it helped to prompt British withdrawal.

I am reminded that Boris Johnson described any such enquiry as 'spaffing money against the wall' and yet he was elected first party leader & then PM - His party did nothing. To say Philips - who worked for Women's Aid before politics - is more on the side of rapists is one dumb take. Libel I'd say.

I wonder how they'd go about defining this 'concept'? Could keep sociologists in employment for decades.

I read this piece and really it is a bit pitiful. Basically insisting that Wainwright populates her work from top to bottom with lesbians. Wainwright's work is very much about a place and people and the diversity within. Why you think a US based Aussie is the cultural arbiter of this escapes me.

I broadly agree with your description of Linehan but you really should set out the nature of the corruption you accuse the Met & the PM of. In fact youy should take it to your police force and ask them to investigate your evidence. You have got evidence I trust?

Well obviously dead to you but in general they plod on as - just let me check - ah yes a government with a huge majority. You might not like their policy agenda (I'm not a particular fan), and the bond markets may cut them off at the knees but they are a long way off imploding.

And yet you have just under 4 years of them as your government - doesn't look that dead. After all they are polling more than the Greens and would you call them dead? I think you have a rose-tinted view of some past Labour Party that really never existed.

Since Jan 2025 46 private schools have shut for mixed reasons but at the same time 77 new private schools have opened which is surprising given falling overall roles. Not sure why wealthy folk should gain tax subsidies but clearly it is something you support.
