Gillis definitely had Cloud's arc planned from the start.
I don't know why I'm so much more forgiving of Cloud than I am toward Shvaughn Erin, both similarly play into misconceptions about the trans experience, as a desperation to conform to heteronormativity.

Anyways if the tenderness she's been showing them this entire time didn't do it, torturing their parents' killer into madness is definitely what causes Cloud to fall for Moondragon. They're the only ones who seem siked about it, apart from Bobby being performatively girl-crazy for her as usual.

...okay I take it back, this is more morally ambiguous than I thought it'd be. I thought she was just going to put the son back in the driver's seat but she just drove him catatonic via the nature of two consciousnesses in one body.

At the end of the day, Professor Power is ultimately just a guy in a fancy suit. A guy in a fancy suit with his face exposed, mind you. There were definitely other ways to beat him.

So full disclosure, I completely approve of the way Moondragon beats Power. I think purging his invasive consciousness from his son's body that he's possessing is the morally correct thing to do, I think if Power was of sound mind he'd agree. That said, I don't buy that it was the ONLY way.

I do think it's funny it was the comic they included with the original Marvel Legends Ms. Marvel. Great comic? Yes! Great first Ms. Marvel story? ...probably not.

This is before they established Bobby's parents were bigoted. BUT, I believe this is the writer, DeMitteus, who did, and shortly before. So perhaps there will be hints. It does feel like a bit of a teaser for the Iceman miniseries at the very least.
