I used Mezzetta Pickled Onions and Los Altos Jocoque, and #ranchogordo #negrodesuelo beans. Served over jasmine rice. Yummy!

Book 3 of 2026

Terror Counter by Fargo Nissim Tbakhi

A poetry collection I didn’t fully understand.

I liked the Gazan Tunnels section, which are collages of words. My favorite section was Ritha' A-Nafs, which is a self-elegy and a type of Arabic verse.

Book 2 of 2026

The Secret Life of Sunflowers by Marta Molnar

There are reasons this book was privately published.

This novel has 2 storylines—1 with Johanna Bonger, 1 is a current romance. This storyline's connection to the Van Goghs is entirely fictional.

Book 1 of 2026

A true picaresque novel, in the vein of Don Quixote and Lazarillo de Tormes.

1950s France, a time and place that a wandering man could pick up a winter job with a barn to stay in. About people and life--loneliness, friendship, kindness, cruelty, good vs bad.

Beets with Brown Butter and Poppy Seeds, from Six Seasons of Pasta by Joshua McFadden. It was good, and beautiful, but needed something. I have some left over for lunch, and will add some feta. My husband did like it, and he’s not a beet fan! 🍽

Finished the #dutchroseblanket by #cypresstextiles ! Great pattern with lots and lots (and lots) of ends. This took me forever and I am so glad it’s done. I love the design, but I hate weaving ends😂 Unblocked (motifs were blocked before joining) 44x61. Scheepjes stonewashed yarn, Boye F hook. 🧶

Is there anyone that actually wants a dishwasher app or a refrigerator app? Why do they think we want this?
"Customers only care about one thing: barely functioning AI crammed into every facet of their lives. We all know this. That’s why anybody who’s anybody has slapped AI onto their product. AI phone, AI refrigerator—if it doesn’t have AI, what the fuck are we even doing?"

12 pounds Santa Ana windfall Granny Smith apples turned into 4 pints applesauce, 3 pints apple butter, 7 half pints apple butter. The apple butter is confirmed delicious. Lots of apples left (most still on the tree.) #foodsky #canning #backyardorchard #grannysmithapples
