To be fair, I don't think he brought race into play, more a sense of: "This guy sucks, vote for me", which never holds up in the long run. Trust me, I was still with Autosport when we interviewed him for James Allen's Pod... nothing special.

Ha, I'm just glad the rest of the media caught up with that one subredditor last week that realised that Mohammed Ben Sulayem can't lose. Farcical, but that's the smaller clubs for you.

That support backing MBS always made him landslide favourite and Mayer's argument was basically: "I'm not him."

I think he had an axe to grind with the company when he blew up on YT, had nothing to do with me - So when I join the company, he rips my video without my consent and then mocks it and spoofs it into a 9/11 joke. It was grim.

Always irks me that the most important video I ever made in regards to the BLM movement and how it related to Motorsport STILL gets nasty comments nearly 3 years on because RocketPoweredMohawk couldn't help but take a swing on WTF1 when I joined. Wonderful.

When Sky's prepared to pay a BILLION for several years of F1, they have to try and make a return on that investment - Means we get hosed as they don't want F1 to be a loss leader business wise. The result - Second rate products that cost 4x a Netflix bill.

Wonder how much of it was club culture taking over national pride, I've heard Rio talk before about how the squad hung out by their club teammates, it's the little things like that that may have had a hand. Hard to compare to other countries, but it's a strange one.

We just had a 4/10 Singapore GP and Fernando Alonso trying to gun down Lewis Hamilton cutting corners with no brakes was completely missed on the broadcast. I don't need to see Zak Brown jogging down a pitlane. Priorities man!

The most amazing thing about F1 is, it has the perfect product for this media climate. Largely background noise level sports with occasional spikes and easy social content. It's why the sport's swimming in cash.

But it doesn't need to keep trying to alienate folks. Shitty broadcasts don't help.

We can watch hours of streamers at a time, because it can be background noise, or we can lock in according to taste.

People watch highlights because it's accessible. Watching an F1 season legally in the UK is going to cost you over £300 in extra Sky fees.

Made a TikTok about this a month back when Domenicalli talked about it and I stand by it: What older folks don't get is, we consume media differently compared to 20 years ago. We tweet, we Discord, we watchalong as opposed to locking in.

We have attention spans, why do you think Twitch is huge?

Sports in general - It's amazing how the Male 18-34 demo is the one TV exes chase like a golden carrot and yet make no effort to truly get what makes them tick.

Football's Super League expansion attempt tried a 60-minute game argument as a barter to fans and it fell on its arse.

The Race had the same reasons I thought of:
1) BoP generally isn't as pronounced (They just got nailed when they dominated everything)
2) They badly need the US market with dwindling sales and a crash in EV Demand
3) Penske collab
4) They're committed to Gen 4 of Formula E through 2030.
