If I had to venture a guess, Aliens Colonial Marines being bad AND coming out during the height of CoD's popularity relayed the wrong message to Fox (or whomever) that gamers "don't want" an AVP shooter.
I don't even think the Predator has been in any game outside of Mortal Kombat since then
