At the musee d’Armee yesterday and saw the WW section and it was chilling. Parallels between then and now are eerie. For example, dehumanization, deportation and use of propaganda were main tools used, not violent repression and they are happening in us now; violent repression came after

We aren't on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We are in the middle of it.

But I worry people don't see the whole scheme. They just pay attention to each new daily outrage. So I went to the Senate floor to explain Trump's plan.

Here's a 🧵of the speech. It's important.

Isn’t he creating a crypto fund that will never be touched ? Seems legit

Incredible.

Jack Posobiec references the earliest version of antifa -- the anti-fascists in the Weimar Republic who were opposed to the Nazi Party -- as the bad guys.

Give specific ways people can help; for example a 5% work stoppage can create a big economic message
dremilybrunner.bsky.social
It’s time for daily nonviolent protests; the only message that will get through is economic. And the stock market is the only thing that is even being measured anymore; shift out of stocks if able to; we can do this, isn’t liberty from oppression kind of the point of the us?

This hits on a HUGE senate issue; many of them are over 75, wealthy and live in a fancy enclave with people who cater to all their needs nonstop; many of them have absolutely no idea what normal life is like and just go off tv

It is pretty MF ing frightening to read this poll; say what you will about pres biden, but he was not inspiring polls with questions about if the us is still a democracy; Cross-Tabs: September 2025 Times/Siena National Poll of Registered Voters www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

I would like to point out also in regard to the shutdown, not one woman is in a position of influence on either side; dems should regroup and replace Schumer and get some different energy; Trump approaches women differently; paternalistic vs oppositional

I am thankful for you all also

The presence of something really bad does kind of line up with the content reported to be in the Steele dossier of 2017 in a way that is “suss”

Resistance to authoritarianism is a coordination game. That's why universities and law firms and nonprofits can't let themselves be picked off one by one. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/08/o...

He has claimed he could kill someone on 5th avenue and no one would care; he displayed no worry about the stormy Daniels case or his many convictions

But he is terrified of the Epstein files getting out and will do anything to distract us

There are only a few things that can be that awful

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

This has been such a shameful chapter; but I will never forget that the opening salvo was for mid twenties men with no experience in government to cut supplies to hiv care and saving hungry children within the first few weeks like it was their top priority and then ignore the suffering they caused

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio insisted “no one has died” as a result of U.S. foreign aid cuts. In Myanmar, the grieving father of a 2-year-old boy who died after their food rations were cut calls such claims a lie.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has repeatedly said “no one has died" because of his government’s decision to gut its foreign aid program.

This is out of hand. These agents are there to cause trouble and violence, not to keep people safe. These are the scenes that play out in war torn, destitute countries - not America.

Murray: I talked to a family that’s paying about $300 a month for their health insurance. It’s going to jump to over $1,800 per month.

Many people will turn away and not pay for it—obviously, they’ll lose their health insurance. The fewer people who have insurance, the more everybody pays.
