Post 2: "why would you say that" because it was funny. "but that isn't true" it's the funniest way to express that sentiment. "why would you do that" because it's a joke.

I constantly think of this sartre quote about how anti-semitism is all rhetoric no facts. What matters to them is who wins and they will say anything for it to be them. You can't win an argument with them because their position does not depend on truth.

But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. Finished up the conversation between Coates and Klein.

It's good but one of the things that stayed with me is this quite from Klein where he admits he doesn't understand why people accept trump. I think it gets to the heart of the problem in Klein's approach.

But the thing that I am struggling with is that for most people, or a lot of people, the plurality of the voters in the last election: He is somehow not way over the line. That means there are a lot of people who are willing to accept things that I thought we would have found unacceptable.

I would have thought that the way he acts in public is unacceptable. And it’s not.
