The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

This is a laudable thing to do and I worry people don't understand the scale of snap. If the entire snap budget would fund the entire month, this donation funds about 5 minutes. US government spending is at a scale that is almost impossible for private individuals to replace.

I made a “how do you do, fellow kids?” joke to someone in their mid 20s who, it turns out, was too young to have heard of that meme.

So “how do you do, fellow kids?” is now an example of “how do you do, fellow kids?”

Sandwich Guy was acquitted.

Juries are the last line of defense for democracy. The Constitution provides an absolute right to a jury trial, and if the crimes of the state are egregious enough, a jury will not convict those who stand against that state.

This case was killed by the insane overcharging of the trump admin. They could have done misdemeanor battery which is just 'undesired touching' but the idiots had to have assault.
A ballistic vest meant to stop a bullet “is definitely going to keep you safe from a sandwich thrown at you," Sean Dunn's defense attorney argued.
