Having to make myself a certificate because reasons. Which is giving strong “never mind if they didn’t invite you to the party, we’ll make one ourselves at home” teenage vibes.

Party update update: I’m stuck talking to a PhD student who’s using the word ‘Metaphysical’ in ways I’m sure it was never intended to be used.
Party update: A woman has started drinking from my drink and it’s become that Douglas Adams biscuit anecdote where I’m drinking from that glass to show her it’s mine and she keeps drinking from it.
Off to a Christmas party. Mum advised me to get there at the start, lest they all become friends without me.

It’s drinks in Croydon, not the start of the academic year.

Saw ‘Stoker’ and the screen faded to black because the projector broke down and no one told the staff for ages as we all thought it was part of the film.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

My favourite ever comment below anything I‘ve written was someone who commented ”I’m sick to death of this woman”.

Mate, so am I!! But at least you can get away once in a while, I’m stuck with her all the time.

Watching the first part of Neil Jordan's film of The End of the Affair this morning and was reminded that Greene kept not only a secret diary, but TWO secret diaries. One was a bluff, so that his wife would feel she'd discovered his secret diary. The other secret diary was the real one.
