CoPilot added CoPilot Training to my calendar. Do you think it will represent itself as The Bobs?

This is Sharpless 261, or Lower's Nebula in Orion. It was discovered by father and son amateur astrophotographers Harold and Charles Lower in 1939.

This is only around 6 hours of integration using SHO filters. 🔭

Blue Oyster Cult meets Steve Hillage, I presume.

Betelgeuse, 2 seconds exposure. It was remarkably colorful from my location tonight, so I took a monochrome picture of it. 😂 Imagine this, but a deep orange bordering on red. 🔭

I also love this one from the Spitzer telescope:

The converging flight lines are like a funnel of planes trying to squeeze between conflict zones.

It clips into one of these. This one is attached to a Think Tank Pro Speed Belt 2.0 which is really only used when I have multiple bodies or a lens changer.

This small plate will work on most arca-Swiss style heads and can clip into Peak Design’s belt clip. My Z8 usually has the hand grip on it rather than a sling or strap But the PD tabs make changing it easy.

The little charger is obviously much smaller than the Nikon single charger and weighs about half a battery. It’s worked well for a couple of years so far. I can also charge batteries in camera but that’s not ideal.

Slightly better processed with some exposure compensation and deconvolution. Also removed a green cast.

Definition improved as Jupiter rose despite being chased by a bright moon. 🔭

Jupiter looking fine this evening. Data likely better than my processing skills. I'll keep practising. 🔭

This has somehow survived from when I bought it with £1.25 of my pocket money in a little bookshop in Dunoon in 1979.

I always liked this cover (and it's a great anthology).

I was going to say "The Buckfast stops here" but then I remembered that's a British fortified wine with caffiene, known for being sold in hip flask sized bottles and abused by antisocial youths and tha tmost US readers would miss the reference.

When I was a young boy, I lived in Jakarta for a few years. That was fifty years ago at the start of this graph. I can't imagine four times the population density there. It must be so different now.

The region was first cataloged by the Crimean Astrophysical University in Simeis, Ukraine as Simeis 147 after its photographic discovery by Grigory Shajn in 1952. This is a small crop of a screen stretch of single five minute image. I'm looking to stack some 120 such per channel. #astrophoto

This is part of a larger work in progress, one of four quadrants of the Spaghetti Nebula (Sharpless 240) in the constellation Taurus. A supernova remanant, at its core is the pulsar PSR J0538+2817 rotating approximately 7 times a second. Roughly 14 hours at 432mm f/4.8. 🔭 #astrophotography
