The cast list for Celebrity Traitors is ridiculously impressive. I never know who the fuck anyone is on celebrity things, but I know almost all these people. It's making me feel quite young.

Jamie Buchan, Sarah Anderson, and Katrina Morrison have published a 'Criminal Justice in Scotland' textbook 📚🍷📖👏

I had the joy of chairing their well attended book launch today.

It has gone straight onto #Criminology Uni reading lists.

Freedom is just another name for “a gap in the law”.

Home Secretary tells Sky News that “there is a gap in the law” when it comes to frequent, repeated protests on the same issue. Hence she will be giving police greater powers to move them to another location or time.

This is excellent – well done, Stephen and team.

Hi there, that sounds really interesting. I'd encourage you to, if you want to, email the researchers at the email address in the link. I imagine they'd be mindful of considering and discussing things like attribution and use. They're both lovely and very capable academics.

I mean, tell me your experienced spin doctors and speech writers have quit without telling me.
Screenshot of an excerpt of the Daily Record article about Starmer's speech. He will tell conference: “So let’s fly all our flags, because they are our flags, they belong to us all and we will never surrender them. This is the time for bringing the whole country together. That’s how we will fight next year’s elections, as patriots of our great nations."

UK higher education now faces a very bleak future, retreating in the face of little public sympathy and limited political interest.

Funny to see whose books feature 👀 📚 😅 #BookSky

Developed through a prisoner-led consultation at HMP Glenochil in Clackmannanshire, this report is by David Cross, through the Building Futures Programme @prtuk.bsky.social on how long prison sentences impact people in prison, families, and communities in Scotland, Northern Ireland, England & Wales.

If any of the constitutional law and #humanrights #law experts want to comment on this 👆 aspect, it would be of interest?

@davidallengreen.bsky.social, is the Prime Minister’s mandatory digital ID proposal likely to sit in tension with the Good Friday Agreement and rights in Northern Ireland?
drhannahgraham.bsky.social
On the #BritCard, First Minister of Northern Ireland Michelle O'Neil tweets:

"The British Prime Minister’s proposal for a mandatory digital ID card is ludicrous and ill-thought out.

This proposal is an attack on the Good Friday Agreement and on the rights of Irish citizens in the North of Ireland"

In Holyrood, it looks like a 'one in, one out' swap for SNP members on the Criminal Justice Committee:

Ben Macpherson has left to become a Government Minister today, and Jamie Hepburn takes his place on the committee tomorrow, questioning two Ministers.

To help when you get there, it's pronounced Mariah / Mar-i-yah. It's full of wombats (gorgeous), wallabies, pretty birds, and snakes, esp in summer.

I'd get up and go early, but it depends on what and how much you want to see. It's got remote and mountainous bits.

Sounds like a good itinerary. Just a note that Bruny Island is beautiful but has little infrastructure. I was there 6 weeks ago. One/two coffee places, only open sometimes. One shop. Dirt roads with potholes. Takes over an hour to drive the length of the island. The lighthouse is worth the drive.

Depends on what interests you and what transport and mobility you have, but any of following places are beautiful:

Mt Wellington/kunanyi in Hobart, Cygnet and Glaziers Bay down South, Freycinet and Wineglass Bay in the East, also Three Capes Walk near Port Arthur, or Cradle Mountain in the North.

Tasmania is incredible, so beautiful and varied. I was born and grew up there and I return annually. It's a foodie heaven. Lots of wilderness, beaches, wildlife. December might get hot 🌡

This site covers Hobart and Southern Tasmania. They're on Instagram, too.
