Had a fun time this morning participating in the Kentuckiana AHA heart walk. It’s great to give back to an association that directly supports heart research. It was especially inspiring to hear the stories of all the survivors. #cardiosky

So proud of my girl. This week she will receive two gold medals for academic performance in math and reading. She’s shaping up to be such a smart, confident and kind hearted girl. I couldn’t ask for more.

Yesterday, we celebrated the recent success of Dr. Marcin Wysoczynski, who was awarded a five-year NIH R01 grant to study how specific types of neutrophils shape the wound healing response after MI. This award marks the start of a new chapter in our understanding of the failing heart.

New publication from the Sansbury lab. This study shows that the ALX/FPR2 signaling axis is necessary for red blood cell homeostasis and that LXA4 activation is important for red pulp macrophage response to acute erythroid stress.

Hot off the press! This latest publication from the Haberzettl lab shows that female mice are protected against cardiometabolic PM2.5 toxicity, possibly by preventing PM2.5-induced pulmonary oxidative stress. physoc.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.14814...

Today, we have the distinct pleasure of welcoming Dr. Mattia Quattrocelli to the Center. This morning, during his visit, Dr. Quattrocelli presented recent work from his lab examining the relationship between the circadian clock, glucocorticoid receptor, and striated muscle biology. #cardiosky
