This won’t end well. As soon as there’s government money on offer, private corporations come out to dip their snouts in the trough. We’ve seen it in aged care, childcare, disability providers, employment services, etc, but continue to fail to learn the lessons from these examples.

Sometimes I think about how from 1935-1975ish, Bell Labs produced an insane amount of revolutionary science and technology, including 11 Nobel Prizes, the transistor, UNIX, C, the laser, the solar cell, information theory, etc. The secret? Provide scientists with ample, steady, no-strings funding.

When a president sends troops into American cities to “restore order,” what he’s really doing is testing obedience. Portland and Chicago aren’t war zones…they’re warning shots. Authoritarians don’t announce takeovers. They practice them. One city at a time. However, each practice destroys families.

Who could ever have imagined when I played a fictional rebel who joined the Resistance to oppose a criminal Authoritarian & wannabe King, it would be happening in real-life?

"Discrediting science and scientists is an essential first step for authoritarian regimes to discredit any other forms of learning and truth and destabilize societies to keep them under control."

I’m sorry, but I just don’t get the attraction of flat-faced cats (or dogs). It doesn’t look attractive to me, & surely it’s not good for the animals’ breathing?? Humans have a lot to answer for in our selective breeding of “cute” deleterious traits in our pets.

In 1935 German leadership called a surprise meeting and informed their previous oath to uphold the Weimar constitution was now void and they instead must swear a personal oath to the Führer. Many claimed they didn’t like the order, but they did it anyway.

A simple denial in the headline might be less click baity, but perhaps more in keeping with morally upright journalism?

Journalists need to be very very careful reporting on the paracetamol story. This is no time for straw man reporting or headlining Trump's statement without commentary, because all most people will see is the headline and take it as gospel. 1/

Vertical rows are the agrivoltaic winner!

“The vertical panels produce slightly less electricity—but with higher value, as generation peaks coincide with morning and late afternoon demand…The crops don't seem to mind the presence of solar panels and they like the wind protection they provide.”
Double harvest: Vertical solar panels and crops thrive side by side
Imagine a field where solar panels and crops coexist—with no trade-off. It sounds like science fiction, but that's precisely what researchers from Aarhus University have now documented in a full-scale...

Good, but stop using the word "graft". It sounds wonky and technical.

"Tom Homan took bribes. Pam Bondi and Kash Patel covered it up. Why? Are they also for sale to the highest bidder? Maybe even foreign governments?"
schiff.senate.gov
Border Czar Tom Homan was caught by the FBI accepting bribes - on camera - to deliver government contracts in exchange for $50,000 in cash.

Pam Bondi knew.

Kash Patel knew.

Emil Bove knew.

And they made the investigation go away.

A corrupt attempt to conceal brazen graft.
