Over the Summer we were visited by the team from hashtag #GlobalCyclingNetwork to speak about our Elevate project e-cargo bike findings. The resulting video is available now and covers some of the things that we found and speaks to some of our participants.

The stand is mostly touching the front wheel & fork so could be a hassle to lock to frame & rear wheel Also It doesn't look like it would work well for an e-cargo bike, or accessible cycle

I wrote this pre our national workshops on Financial Access to E-(cargo) bikes, thinking about Total Cost of Ownership vs cars, the second car as a particular target for replacement with such bikes, and the potential appeal of the leasing model of ownership (which is so addictive for car ownership).

I am presenting work from the ELEVATE project in Dublin today. I'll be talking about where household e-cargo bikes go - the types of roads they use , trip distances and so on

The cycle industry organisation said the programme conflated e-bikes with “illegal e-motorbikes”, lacked balance, and “failed to properly inform the public”

MAJOR NEW STUDY: Followed 82,000 subjects in #Scotland, up to age 74, found that cyclists + pedestrians had significantly reduced risks of:
— early death
—cancer
—cardiovascular mortality
—hospitalization for ANY reason.

Couple of days after I posted this the DfT released the latest transport stats. www.gov.uk/government/s... Think congestion is bad now? DfT models it's going to worsen.

How did I miss this study when it came out a few months ago? Google Scholar normally emails me about anything that even mentioned cycling. Anyway - WOW, look at the effect sizes for the benefits of active travel
