Ive been passed over for many jobs (including a VP of internal tech at a major bank) simply because I was honest with my interviewers that AI systems dont actually work and we need to be careful before we implement them.

My PhD is in AI. They opted to hire con artists with business degrees instead.

and don't get me wrong, i love your videos, and thinking about this stuff (from a science fiction/speculation perspective) is fun, but there's zero chance of AGI being developed, let alone ASI. focusing on an impossibility ignores the very real damage it and their companies are currently doing.

thinking 1000x faster doesn't make something 1000x more intelligent. the models don't get smarter just because you run them faster or in parallel. 1000 parrots doesn't meet or exceed a human mind, they're still just parrots.

definitely not, and suggesting it is just does the work of AI companies' marketing divisions for them by making their tech seem more capable than they are.

Yeah, if you look online you'll see there are "safety" groups looking to recruit YouTubers.

People have fallen for the grift include
- SciShow
- Kurzgesagt
- Kyle Hill
- Professor Dave Explains
- Adam Conover

in addition to Hank Green and others I probably haven't seen
Your Favorite Science YouTubers Are Wrong About AI, (e.g. SciShow, Kurzgesagt, and Kyle Hill )

Are you expecting a conservative to understand a joke that isn't just "being mean to someone" in disguise

I had some issues around then, thought admittedly I wasn't around a heck of a lot. had one of my posts sent twice, much to my embarrassment, lol
