I really hate how this site threads posts.
This is an entire thread and one comment cut the thread off and you have to find where it continues. This isnt always obvious and it is really fucking annoying. Unless you click on that you miss all the second screenshot.

Im pretty happy with this being the first time Ive made something like this
January 20, 2026 at 4:47 AM
Nice and clean
January 20, 2026 at 4:47 AM
I sewed the bodice and lining together then understitched the lining to keep it from popping up the front. I like to align the presser foot with the working seam them move my needle towards the lining to insure the line stays parallel
January 20, 2026 at 4:47 AM
I pinned the right sides together at the boning then smoothed and pinned the rest together then basted them with the largest stitch length i had. Im happy with this. So now Im going to go through and sew the top
January 20, 2026 at 4:17 AM
And yes, that back boning does still stick out. No idea what to do about that
January 20, 2026 at 4:17 AM
There were still some gaps in the lining so i put some tucks in them
January 20, 2026 at 4:17 AM
It fit better than i thought it would
January 20, 2026 at 4:17 AM
I used organza on the darts and this is a perfect time for duck bill scissors or appliqué scissors. Its much easier to not cut the fabric while trimming
January 20, 2026 at 4:17 AM
I “balanced” the darts by cutting them open. This way there isnt a bulk of fabric on one side
January 20, 2026 at 4:17 AM
I had issues marking the fabric with carbon paper. So i cut the darts out and traced them
January 20, 2026 at 4:17 AM
Oh the company president showed up for quality control
January 20, 2026 at 1:57 AM

January 20, 2026 at 1:57 AM

January 19, 2026 at 6:13 PM
Look how tortured he is
January 19, 2026 at 3:46 PM
This is for the skirt. I have no idea how i am going to cut the fabric out
January 19, 2026 at 3:46 PM
Im hoping this little poky disappears
January 19, 2026 at 3:12 PM
This was so easy. I dont know why Ive been so intimidated.
January 19, 2026 at 3:12 PM
The C shape should be to then outer side of the fabric when you sew them on so it will form to you
January 19, 2026 at 3:12 PM
I cut the pieces with scissors then covered the ends with some boning casing then sewed them on

The link in the chain is broken and i dont know where the other posts are. This is the second lining and Im happy with this. Tomorrow Im going to add ridgeline boning. This is my first time using boning…
January 19, 2026 at 11:39 AM
I cut out and sewed the lining and its a bit too small. So tomorrow Im going to add an inch to both sides when i cut a new one. I dont love this lining fabric. I wish it was a little less see through.
