I follow human beings (at walking pace, from the shadows)
I'd literally never heard of it until five years ago when I was talking Halloween and POV shots with someone. Turns out it was showing _that night_ at the arthouse theater. I really had no idea what to expect; I just sat dumbfounded as the credits rolled.

To be fair, that is a set from Mad Men, and airplane sets aren't really famed for being accurate — but I also don't feel like finding out how accurate Mad Men felt the need to be. I bet the information is Out There though.

Regexes generally aren't supported since very few people can be arsed to implement the DFA to NFA transform needed to make them safe against adversarial inputs.

Never mind that every client runs on a 1990s supercomputer or better.

The cubes just need to freeze from the top; I use a deep tray that sits in a foam box with a silicone mold that helps separate the cubes from the cloudy part. clearlyfrozen.com

It's a bit of work separating the top and bottom but not too hard with practice.

If you're asking if my partners just accepted it, then I'd say yes?

I don't remember having a discussion beforehand, but everyone I've called that has been in a relationship where I'd feel pretty confident knowing where things stand. I think?

Still not sure I'm answering the right question.

Australians use "partner" a lot, even more than a few straight and married ones.

Bully for you, going for "girlfriend" as the default.

When you post something I don't understand I go look it up and 3 times out of 5 I regret it

It's not a you-problem, it's a me-problem

What's hilarious here is that these criminals don't even need to disguise themselves as ICE, since even in the before times ICE would use Spirit Halloween -quality generic "POLICE" disguises.

The branding on his deeply unoriginal idea is either pure genius — news outlets won't even say or print it! — or boneheadedly dense and I've never been able to tell which

The dude who ran boing boing knows a thing or two about how the effect of a need for revenue drives user-hostility

It's so odd given that caller ID is (as you know, Bob) totally opt-in and under the caller's control.

No business can ever tell me the number their calls will come from; my tire place alone has at least 9 different numbers

The people that they/you/I follow have been hand-selected; people following them/you/me can be anyone (and frequently are).

You can't reply because they've limited replies to people they follow. People do this (sometimes retroactively) to control the quantity or quality of replies.
