FDR's post war vision was clear. 18th century colonial imperial capitalism was dead; and more than that, as he is explicit about, it is the root of the evil that we faced in global fascism, the first time around as it is today. Attacking Britain's 'free' trade agreements w/ India et al. he goes on:

Elliot was present for these events, recalling verbatim what was said with help from the official records. The other assertion here I that i find a little odd, since Korea is his focus, is how Dan talks about denuclearization of North Korea: this ship has sailed, something I thought he understood well. The only one demanding that are the US, who use it as an excuse to renege on Panmunjom accord.

These Americanisms have seeped into the intpol language globally, like in the statement in this article from Jung E-Gil. You can make this argument about Russia, but lumping China into it is simply playing into the flavor of the moment politics.

This framing is ofc, rooted in self-serving America-centric propaganda: Taiwan is a part of China, it is the seat of the Republic of China govt, which held the China permanent seat on the UNSC until 1971, and to this day is still locked in a frozen Civil War w/ the PRC. That is reality.

I don't see indication this was an assassination attempt. The drones were flying with their lights on, and this is being considered an attempt at disruption.
