Funniest part of this is this guy is Jewish, has a picture of himself kissing the wailing wall holding up a certificate of bar mitzvah at the wall, and wearing a tefilin--but LARPs as a neo-Nazi Christian nationalist. so a lot of anti-semitic right wingers think he's an Israeli plant.
He gave a bunch of Nazi salutes and out came the super soakers (pic from Mpls subreddit)

Oh my god, I'm already on the way to find very colorful goofy looking clothing to fit in with our new Danish masters. As they say in Copenhagen, it's the "butter hole"!
More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland.

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

I liked the first part of it. As a warhammer neophyte, I really liked getting into it. I recently restarted it since they finally fixed some crazy bugs that ruined it for me. It's a better experience than it was the first year, but still not a fan of owlcat's systems and menus. am i alone in this?

and ofc, Israel is not satisfied bc they won't be satisfied until they're murdered or exiled every Palestinian and destroyed every single one of the countries in that region--which is why they're so important for American foreign policy.

It's a committee of like, the worst people on the planet. really something, actually.
Netanyahu and his government are very upset that Trump has allowed Qatari and Turkish ministers to serve on high level committees in the "Board of Peace".

Erdogan himself is expected to be on the Board, and his right hand man Fidan is on an important executive subcommittee.

The Canada-China relationship has been distant and uncertain for nearly a decade.

We’re changing that, with a new strategic partnership that benefits the people of both our nations.

Overall take, the dull "should Biden have run again" convo (framed as a stumper for Dems) has taken up space that would be better used for a "what did Biden do right and wrong" convo.

Compare to Rs, who reframed 2017-2020 as a golden age when gas was free, economy boomed, and COVID didn't count.
Watched Buttigieg's TH in WI... one takeaway is that Dems still aren't sure how to talk about the Biden years.

Buttigieg briefly mentioned that he was Transportation Secretary but kept his "we can't just pretend we got it right before" vibe from when he was a small-town mayor. (1/2)

this crystallizes why, despite truly heroic solidarity and activism, i can’t quite get in the “we’re going to win” mindset right now. the harm is so active and there’s so much violence we don’t even know about. people are being turned into ghosts.

This is the exact same shit they pulled during the George Floyd protests in 2020. They are also arresting/targeting observers again.

The tactics are the same because the fight is the same - whether or not we allow armed agents of the state to bring violence into our communities with impunity.

Even putting aside sovereignty arguments and the ability of US tech to turn off services for eg francesca albanese, ICC etc the the USA uses tech to extract rents from us all. In britian we send £100bn every year to america in digital rents via AWS, amazon, visa, netflix, ebay etc
When countries get hooked on US tech, their governments are constrained in reining in tech’s harms while most of the economic benefits accrue to the United States.

It’s time to break out of that trap — but that means challenging the Silicon Valley model, not creating our own digital colonizers.

reminds me of the discourse around Mamdani in NY, or Pro Palestine, anti-genocide protests generally: "they are making me uncomfortable, their existence as Arabs, Palestinians" and showing solidarity w/ these people "makes Jewish people feel in danger" etc., is just thinly veiled racism.

I'm somewhat tired of pretending that trans women using women's changing rooms and bathrooms has ever been a problem, as entire legal systems contradict their own precedent specifically to deny trans women dignity and serve up sacrifices to gender-conservatives and bigoted religious groups.
