Aquatic sciences are central to humanities well being. This piece stresses military dependence on scientific knowledge and there is so much more. Avoidance of loss of life on D-Day was new to me, as was the involvement of Walter Munk!

Hi David, confused about the prominence of iron fertilization. Iron fertilization promotes growth of harmful algal species and the produced biomass is typically grazed leaving only minuscule export. Of course excited to hear about safe and effective approaches beyond emission reductions.
