For National Science Week I wanted to share my favourite office is out on a boat at sea, as even if I spend most of my time in front of a laptop, I know why I’m doing it 🐠🐋🐙🦑 #MarineScience #fisheries #WhaleWatching #Diving

To celebrate #NationalScienceWeek I want to share my favourite aspect of science - combining my love of nature with my curiosity (my inner "but why?" 3yr old!).
Seeking solutions for biodiversity, fundamental for a healthy planet and society.

For #NationalScienceWeek 🌏 I'm celebrating the incredible citizen scientists helping us test airborne eDNA capture devices — from tree canopies to bushland tracks. Every filter they collect holds a hidden record of the biodiversity in the air we breathe. 🧬💨

I’ve not been very good at sharing science from #ICCB2025 but I attended a great session this afternoon on applying genetics to biodiversity conservation. Talks from @hernmoral.bsky.social, @lauradbertola.bsky.social, Christina Hvilsom and Carolyn Hogg (1/5)

We have a 20 yr conservation plan. Great! But what do I do tomorrow?
Great talks about making info actionable at #ICCB2025 incl. Melissa Price (Uni Hawaii; slide credit) encouraging us to think dynamic plans that support large scale planning and small scale, daily decisions by local managers.

Conservation doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It occurs at the intersection with people.
Loving this theme across talks at #ICCB2025, including a wonderful plenary by Assoc. Prof. Binbin Li, highlighting the need for building trust and working with local communities for better conservation outcomes.

Some of my favourite conference moments - catching up (and meeting for the first time in person) beautiful colleagues from near and far. #ICCB2025

How can we support adaptive evolution in our rapidly changing world?
I’m thrilled to join 3 other presenters and panelists on Tues 3:15pm M2 #ICCB2025. I’ll share work that’s establishing an experimental network to test alternative seed sourcing strategies for revegetation under climate change.

Who else is presenting at #ICCB2025 ?
So many exciting talks and posters in the program! Repost this slide and let us know when / where to find you!

Are you making an impact (for conservation)?
The reflection and challenge put to #ICCB2025 by Qld Chief Scientist Prof. Kerry Wilson in the opening plenary.
Looking forward to a week of amazing talks from multiple disciplines and sectors.

Great scientist and great guy riding an amazing distance (and eye-watering 18000 m of elevation gain!) to raise awareness and money for restoration. Check it out!

Happy #NationalEucalyptDay2025! A worthy winner for 2025 Eucalypt of the Year (travel edition).

I spent National Eucalypt Day in the beautiful Box-gum Ironback Eucalypt woodlands of central Victoria, around my PhD study species, Grey Box (Eucalyptus microcarpa). Many warm fuzzies!
