Of Overijssel and Gelderland built one of his first churches in the town where my parents live now, and he went to school (study to be a missionary) in York, where I live. In like 800 CE! I want to know more about that ~16 yr old boy who was sent from Utrecht to York, apparently all by himself

Connected to all of Europe, the Hanseatic league, networks of monasteries and missionaries, the Holy Roman Empire and so on. It was a backwater, sure, but a well-connected one! (Even if most people didn't move of course). As a fun fact, I recently learned that the guy who "completed" the kerstening

Well, Lisa and I are so delighted enough to share that The Philosopher Queens is now being published with Hackett, with FIVE NEW CHAPTERS. The book will out in 2027 with new illustrations, a new introduction, and a new foreword as well.
