It's notable that humanities and social sciences once again make up 50% of ERC starting awards in Ireland (a notably higher proportion than in other countries) despite the weak financial support for research in these disciplines nationally. We should fund what we're good at!

My 9-yr old son told me today that he was getting something he didn’t think he could have because of a pothole.

He meant loophole. 😆

Love it! Part memoir, part ‘it-narrative’. Genre-defining.

Exciting new exhibition opening at MoLI on 4 July: 'Happy Ever After: Falling in love with Irish romance fiction', curated by Paige Reynolds. A really fun project in which to be involved & hooray to moving away from the historical shame associated with genre/women's fiction!

I would be very excited to see more international perspectives. There are lots of great texts and adaptations out there that haven't been pitched on at all.

Also would love to see some more abstracts on alternate forms: radio drama, theatre, visual novels, gaming etc!

A reminder that there is one week to go to submit your abstract for the new edited collection on 'Carmilla' and its legacies edited by myself and Simon Bacon!
