Urge the Trump admin to deschedule marijuana—and tell Congress to act.

The MORE Act would end federal criminalization, expunge past convictions, restore benefits, reinvest in communities, and improve consumer safety.

Tell Congress: pass the MORE Act. engage.drugpolicy.org/secure/tell-...
Tell Congress: End Federal Marijuana Criminalization. Rescheduling Falls Short.
Tell your House Rep to cosponsor the MORE Act and end federal criminal penalties for marijuana.

Real marijuana reform means ending federal criminalization and building a system based on health, safety, justice, and community investment.

Rescheduling can’t do that.

Descheduling—paired with Congressional action—can.
December 18, 2025 at 11:33 PM
Rescheduling would acknowledge marijuana’s medical value. It could also lift some research restrictions and boost corporate profits.

Yet, arrests, housing/job barriers & gaps in safety, labeling, and worker protections would remain.

Fentanyl is a real crisis. We need solutions that reduce demand and save lives—not warmongering or international conflict.
December 16, 2025 at 10:27 PM
To save lives from fentanyl, the U.S. government should focus on reducing demand:

-Expanding addiction treatment
-Investing in overdose prevention programs
-Guaranteeing access to healthcare
December 16, 2025 at 10:27 PM
Declaring fentanyl a “weapon of mass destruction” puts Americans’ safety at risk.

-May be used to expand military aggression abroad, increasing the risk of conflict with other countries
-Weakens national security and diverts resources from actual mass destruction threats, like nuclear attack
December 16, 2025 at 10:27 PM
Federal law already punishes fentanyl offenses severely.

-Manufacturing or distributing less than 40 grams of fentanyl is already punishable by up to 20 years in prison
-This EO could justify even harsher penalties, including life sentences and death penalty for people struggling with addiction
December 16, 2025 at 10:27 PM
At the same time they’re declaring fentanyl a “weapon”, the federal government is cutting funding for addiction treatment & overdose prevention.

Medicaid, the largest source of addiction treatment funding, is being slashed by nearly $1 trillion

Overdose prevention programs are being affected
December 16, 2025 at 10:27 PM
Proven solutions to fentanyl save lives.

-Addiction treatment, including medications for opioid use disorder
-Naloxone access
-Overdose prevention programs

Fact: Overdose deaths dropped nearly 27% in 2024, largely due to these interventions
December 16, 2025 at 10:27 PM
Fentanyl is a real crisis. This EO makes it worse & ignores proven solutions.

-Expands criminal penalties
-Fails to invest in addiction treatment or overdose prevention programs
-Could result in people struggling with addiction receiving life sentences or the death penalty
December 16, 2025 at 10:27 PM
On Dec 15, 2025, President Trump declared fentanyl a weapon of mass destruction (WMD).

The EO expands criminal penalties and asserts wartime powers that the Executive does not actually hold—and includes no new funding for addiction treatment or overdose prevention.

We need to fund care, not killings:

-Fully fund Medicaid and access to treatment
-Restore overdose prevention funding
-Invest in evidence-based drug research
-Stop killing people
