Honoured to be working as co Editor in Chief of the Journal of Bioethical Inquiry!

We have such a wonderful history to build from but, no doubt, it’s a difficult and transitional time for academic publishing. Helping steward JBI, alongside Chris and Bronwen, will be an exciting new challenge!

📣 Introducing new JBI editors-in-chief (content) Chris Mayes and Diego Silva.

They both join our continuing editor-in-chief of production, Bronwen Morrell.

Thanks to our outgoing EiC (content) Michael Ashby, who is retiring from the JBI and leaving it in these great hands!

So cool to watch Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce run what will - likely - be her last 100m race at the #WorldAthletics Championship. What an amazing career! Absolute beast 💪 What a legend!

Will be curious how we‘ll speak of this at the upcoming Union meeting in November. (Assuming people attend which will be difficult with funds drying up)

is strongly correlated to post-truth ideas that rely on impractical and unsound notions of certainty (as if we can only be certain of tautologies).

But I guess, given what's going on in legal courts in the US, and public opinion courts, will this supposed need for a smoking gun handcuff Silver?
dsilvaphd.bsky.social
then how do you square the two things: lower evidentiary standard with Ballmer's plausible deniability?

(And here's where I'm probably not connecting things properly) It seems like the absurd and excessive use plausible deniability and weaponization of doubt, the purported need for "smoking guns"

where there is cap circumvention. If so, I don't get how Ballmer isn't dead to rights on this.

But everyone (read: basketball podcast nerds, who are very smart, not doubting) are claiming that it will be very difficult for Adam Silver to overcome Ballmer's plausible deniability claim.

Okay but

#NBA nerd open question:

How much of the Ballmer/Kawhi Leonard/Aspire saga is being interpreted through the post-truth glasses of 2025? What LEGAL effect, if any, will this have?
