Please talk about the benefits to schools more!

Affordable family housing = high enrollment + Title 1 funding

School enrollment funds = more teachers, staff, and resources

Title 1 supports = interventionists, teachers, materials, and even parent ed funds

The benefits are in the $100 thousands+

Interesting. I distinctly remember the CDOT rep saying that visual que greenery would be more effective at slowing cars than concrete barriers. Wonder what made them change their minds

Highly doubtful. He's not a coalition builder and I don't see him winning over the Southside

Agreed. It was just completed, but anecdotally I'm seeing a big difference. I'm curious if the data will corroborate

Thank you! I've been wondering if it's possible to do a comparative analysis of Granville before and after the improvements

Where is this data from?

I feel like liberals need to bring up the 2000 election more often

Agree. Responsible VE is important, but if we (society, designers, citizens, ect) also need to clearly articulate societal value of projects and the larger vision communicated by design/VE. I'm far from "The Discourse" but I've definitely said as much in public feedback for some of your projects.

There's a scarcity mindset issue when it comes to affordable housing or anything related to the public good. I really feel like we have lost the ability to create aspirational visions of what an abundant, equitable future should look like.

Not a lawyer, but wouldn't that be grounds for an appeal or dismissal? From a layman's perspective, attorneys not identifying themselves seems to be stepping on the 6th amendment

I'll never forget my [very white] mom gasping and locking the doors while driving down 47th as people were very clearly crossing the street to enter the green line. White pearl clutching about safety definitely needs a grain of salt.

I'm definitely hoping Granville is proof of concept for both street calming and increasing bike use. For getting a protected path from the Channel to the River, there are challenges but it's definitely something to advocate for. It would also be great to have more safe connections to cross 90/94

Changes are coming to Granville this summer. Won't be fully off road, but should be a much better bike experience from Sheridan/LFT to the River Trail

Who gets the money? DLSD is conrtolled by IDOT, right? So does that mean the state keeps ticket money or does the city?

It's a little worrying that there will only be 15 three bedrooms. Will any of these apartments (3 or 2 bed) prioritize families?

As much as I'd love to see things shaken up in my district this response is talking at cameras, not talking to voters...which is exactly what the 9th District has now
