TOP 21 ON THE STATE OF JS SURVEY?!?
In our very first year?!

I am actually speechless (and y'all know that rarely happens!) I had to do a double-take to make sure I wasn't seeing things!

Wow! Thank you for recommending us!
Especially with so many other great podcasts there!

With TypeScript, you actually have two options, whether you realize it or not.

Let's say you are using TanStack React Forms and need a type. You can do this in 2 different ways!

Have you tried this yourself?
This is a small clip from a larger video with the link below.

Use AI to audit your site as a user or a group of users!
Are you using AI like this?

This is one of my favorite things to do with AI because the value is just on another level.

It's one thing to just audit how things work, It's another to make AI try it with user personas!

THE COHORTS ARE BACK!

A 6-week Software Developer program where you work on a team building a project that is actually worth talking about in an interview while being guided by 2 professional software developers in the industry.

We do not monetize this. It is completely free.

I’ve literally loved the last year building EventConvo, and today, the hard work paid off with these Lighthouse scores!

EventConvo is hitting Beta soon, and it’s blazing fast.

Vercel & Next.js 15, React 19, TanStack, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Appwrite, Stripe, and Resend!

DALLAS! Our Last meetup of the year is on December 9th and it will be our most requested meetup to end the year right, A Night Of AI. I need some speakers for this one. Anyone interested in speaking in person for this one? Need 4 speakers for 10-15 minute lightning talks.

Still trying to leak sensitive data?!
Instead of a 'safelist' for WHAT TO INCLUDE, you need a 'blocklist' for what to exclude!

Meet Omit. It's the perfect utility type for when you want to return ALMOST everything from an object, but need to guarantee you hide sensitive fields:

The scariest bug in production?
Accidentally exposing sensitive data!

Don't just hope you filtered your objects.
Enforce it at the type level!

Here's how TypeScript's Pick utility type acts as your security guard. It lets you create a "safelist" of properties.

The Commit Your Talk (CYT) project now has Auth and User Management on the Website using @WorkOS AuthKit!

Curriculum has been added to the site and now the goal is to add in curriculum tracking so people can log into their accounts and keep track of how much they have done!

A weekly call that helps software developers of all levels become more confident in discussing technical topics to help their careers.

I am at the very beginning stages but I am creating this open source project with my discord where we will host weekly calls with a curriculum!

We are bringing out the Full-size candy bars, Japanese candy, and a massive selection for the kids to go wild!

Want to know how NOT to take a project from ticket to production? 😂

Tomorrow's "The Programming Podcast" episode covers all the lessons learned the hard way. I just rewatched it, and it's a GOOD one!

What's your biggest "project gone wrong" regret?

BY THE WAY! The latest episode of The Programming Podcast was officially our 50th published episode!!!! @leonnoel.bsky.social!

Wow. I saw it when I made the YouTube API request while working on the podcast page of my new site.

I remember us getting 10 listens, & we were literally GEEKING out!

For The Programming Podcast, we are VERY selective on the guest cohosts we bring on. We try to make sure that if they are there, it is for a huge purpose, and y'all seem to love this.

Who should we start aiming to bring on next?
Who do YOU want to hear, and the big one, WHY?

New Blog post will be coming out soon!

I feel like I've got it where I want it, but I'm going to sleep on it to make sure I feel the same way in the morning. I really like the angle of this one.

I think I am going to turn it into a video tutorial as well! 👀

I've been cooking chat! I've been building EventConvo, a platform to find events and conferences but also solves a lot of problems for Meetup Organizers, Conference Organizers, Speakers AND Just regular folks going to meetups!

I love how much progress has been made since I first spoke about it!

I am very behind on the They got a job posts but LISA went through the cohort, she truly went above and beyond, and is now officially a backend apprentice at LinkedIn! 👏👏👏

As you know with @commityourcode.bsky.social I like to be 100% transparent with EVERYTHING.

St. Jude Children's Hospital
Operation Kindness
and FreeCodeCamp

I think I MIGHT have a brand new headshot to use for the socials that was taken at the FREE headshot station at The @commityourcode.bsky.social Conference wearing my very classy @thisdotlabs.bsky.social pin of course. Always representing the DOT!

Thoughts? 🤔

The @commityourcode.bsky.social Pickleball event for Day[0] was a HUGE SUCCESS!

We even had a pickleball pro guiding newer players with a group lesson! I guess you could say it was a... Smashing success 😂 pun absolutely intended!

Also this shirt by Jake is actually amazing 😂😂😂

Too afraid to talk at a conference?
Make Me the Bad Guy!

Introducing the new EventConvo conversation prompt cards for #CYC25!

Just walk up to someone, say the prompt on your card, and wait for them to say theirs back.

THEN you both sign the cards.
It really works.

Most “CSS problems” aren’t really CSS problems.
They’re organizational ones.

- Append-only stylesheets? Missing methodology.
- Fragile layouts? No shared structure.

CSS doesn’t give you guardrails
Methodology and communication do.
Be the browser’s mentor, not its micromanager.
