The only feature on this plain is a tall spire, rough and black like everything else, but also dramatic and strong looking. She cranes her neck back but can’t see the top from here. Even so, the spire attracts her like a magnet. Without planning on moving, she walks—drifts?—glides?—over until she is close enough to touch it. Shrugging about dream logic—or at least not normal life logic—and remembering the door, she puts her hand out. At the moment her hand would have made contact if she was solid, she finds herself at the top of the spire, balancing precariously on an upthrust pillar of stone. Oh, fuck. She’s never been afraid of heights, but this is way more than she can handle. “Chloe!?” “Lucifer?” She sways and tries to grab at the armrest of the throne she now sees in front of her. This is his throne? All wondering immediately gets shoved aside when, as she should have expected, her arm goes right through, and she is holding nothing. She sways again, over-balanced. A hand shoots out, fingers encircling her forearm, holding her with an iron grip. Not painful or tight, but comfortingly solid in a place where everything is vapor, and the ground is very far away. “Well, hel-lo there. It seems my dream girl has returned,” his voice purrs in her ear. “Your first appearance was surprising, but this one is even more so.” Chloe gives him an annoyed huff as she scrabbles to clutch at his coat. She can’t help but notice that it’s deep red this time with black trim and silver buttons, even as she tells herself it’s not the time for flirting or checking out his wardrobe. Lucifer chuckles, and transfers his grip to his other hand while he slides his arm around her waist, pulling her close. She gives a little yelp, clutching harder. Since nothing but him is solid, she finds herself standing within the side of the throne, flush to his side with her head at his chest height. Which is seriously weird. But what else is new?

Lucifer disheveled with a drink Lucifer lounges, eyes heavy, shirt half undone, and jacket askew. The beat of the music pulses through him. He is the room, and the room is him. Oooh, these gummies are splendid! Stronger than he expected, but delightful. Relaxation and joy spreads under his skin with each thump of the bass. Such lovely people those girls were, giving him a handful without expecting anything in return. Well…maybe they wanted something, but they didn’t insist, and he’s a one-woman Devil these days. He stretches and relaxes back against the wall, looking over the dance floor. Colored beams of light sweep over the crowd, reflecting off the pipes in the ceiling and the windows way up high. A shaft of blue light sweeps over him, transporting him, though he stays in place. The dance floor expands and contracts with the beat, trying to tug him forward. It’s as though he’s on a ride, and part of him itches to let go—to allow himself to slide into the middle of the hundreds of sweaty, scantily-clad people enjoying themselves. Not long ago, he would have thrown himself into the middle of this sea of lust and desire, drowning in a haze of sin only to recreate himself and drown again. He has always been a Devil of abandon. Now, Lucifer stays where he is, waiting for Chloe to be done in the bathroom. Impatient for her to come back, so he can stop fending off half-naked people and have her instead. The dance floor isn’t the only thing that’s expanding, but the only person he wants is her. He drowns in her daily, and she recreates him with her hands.

I think this is the best description I’ve seen of Lucifer’s love for Chloe. Someone needs to write a fic about him being an “intentional menace”, because I would definitely read it. In fact, I love that his love is so relentless, because he just doesn’t know any better! #LuciferFanfiction 📺😈
