The right completely fails to understand that national productivity (and security) succeeds and thrives when the mass of citizens are NOT terrified every second (of getting sick; of trying to deal with banks and insurance; of starving).

More productivity = more for all (even the billionaires!)

Weird edit by CNN, apparently to protect Stephen Miller who'd accidentally revealed something he wasn't supposed to:
cwebbonline.com
Check the timestamps. On CNN’s website, the uploaded interview starts at 2:52. On their YouTube page, the upload starts at 2:47. The “plenary authority” comment by Miller was at 2:41, as shown in my side-by-side video post. CNN should be reporting on what Miller said. It’s news!

JPM DESK: “.. the US budget deficit has not shrunk despite the tariff revenue.

“.. if tariffs are not being used to pay down debt or in some cases as a bailout (e.g., soybean farmers ..) at what point does the bond market react negatively?”

Our authoritarianism is run on clichés borrowed from the Eastern Europe of twenty years ago. Paid protestors, disloyal cities, evil Soros, vast conspiracies — it was all tiresome then and there, and now it’s pathetic.

Trump: "They're, like, insurrectionists, they're terrible people. But you really wonder why. Why are they doing it? What are they gaining? Other than they're obviously paid. They're paid a lot of money."

Autocracy retreads---avoid! Very unreliable!

Some of the #TrumpRegime have the canniness that power-seekers tend to display, but there's no real intelligence there. It's a collection of dim bullies beating up the country to get money and dominance.

Everyone can set aside partisanship, psychologizing, pathologizing, whatever, and—I would hope—still see that it’s incredibly dangerous for a political leader to be this disconnected from the real conditions in the country.

Trump: "I don't know what could be worse than Portland. You don't even have stores anymore. They don't even put glass up. They put plywood on their windows."

Even the oligarchs are starting to worry that Donald may be bad for business, no matter how many tax breaks he gives them.

True, there's not a lot of hope of justice (or a neutral Bar Association) in Florida, these days.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

THIS is who Trump felt deserved $20 billion of taxpayer money--deserved it more than the American people:

Milei capers around on stage whilst the country falls to pieces. This is a perfect encapsulation of his role, a narcisistic fool who clowns around and holds peoples attention whilst the Argentine ruling class reduces the country back to the level of neo-colonial dependency last seen prior to 1914.

This administration is flooding the zone so furiously that people have largely lost track of the lethal attacks on boats in the Caribbean, the gov’t shutdown, the economy, failed release of the Epstein files & so much else. It’s a tactic of would-be strongmen.

It has two likes.

Having done a lot of reading on the topic, I disagree with your claim that sitting is always dangerous. Your claim is exaggerated and doesn't account for differing protest circumstances.

I believe you are wrong in claiming that one post with two likes will get people killed.

Fair enough about "insular narcissists."

But if it's true, it may have been a trend in human psychology over the decades that mass media (in the modern sense) has existed, accelerating as watching a screen has become the dominant part of many people's days.

(I'll end this derail of your thread.)

NOTE: one @bsky.app poster has taken nearly-violent exception to the "sit down" suggestion.

Good judgment counts. "But you DO sit down to prevent escalation. If things are escalating toward violence, then you stand. This is from decades of successful protests"

Bondi's main preparation for this hearing was clearly combing the internet for conspiracy theories about each and every Democratic Senator.
