Home to play with new art bits - a selection of nibs, a fancier nib holder I absolutely didn't mean to leave in my cart but oh well, some new white ink, and some lil jars in a stand, suitable for decanting ink into rather than dipping directly into the containers (as I have been).

Another cool book my library decommissioned is this pocket-sized 1971 guide book to Rome - the back cover unfolds into this attached map of the city and surrounds.

My library sells off donated and withdrawn stuff on weekends. I picked these up yesterday.
The Sword and Candlemass are regular rotation for me but Mutoid Man was completely new to me and bought unheard based solely on vibes. I've since listened, pretty good!

Yall know I love zines. I found this in a used bookstore yesterday and I had to have it.
I dont care about Dr Who and I havent been a Star Trek nerd in years (was as a kid, tho).

Built my wife a paint organizer box thingy while we await a real one from the internet.
Used an old Amazon box from Christmas and a pocket knife and eons of genetic memory of precision Italian craftsmanship.
It's possible I am a genius.

I am! Ive had so much fun learning with the cheap stuff that I felt like splurging on some Deleter 2 white ink, some fancy nibs based on the experiences over at nijomu.com/pen-and-ink/..., and some lil bottles to use to load my nibs rather than direct from the jar. The nib holder was an accident 🙃

Like last night last night, this arrived in a stack of 20 or so weird indie press books and it was by far the standout so far.
Gotta also look for more "12 Pages" by Mark Crilley, those were neat too.

Im trying to make a zine that I'll print & staple. It's gonna be a half page format, so like 1 sheet will be cut in half to produce 2 leaves, if that makes sense?
I am struggling to figure out how to put this on a page in software so it can be cut and the fronts/backs make sense.

I just don't think their second vocalist (after the plane crash) could live up to the original lineup. Hard to match someone whose voice NME described as "Kermit the Frog on drugs, but it works", yknow?

We went to Zine Fest Houston this weekend and it was POPPIN. Apparently over 1600 in attendance for the nearly 200 vendors, and I believe that, because the place was mobbed the whole time we were there. It was an outdoor(ish) venue with plenty of space in the structure and still it was deep, man.
