Rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare and aggressive cancer that usually occurs in children but is also seen in teenagers and adults.

New funding by Alice's Arc will support our PI Bass Hassan, with colleagues in @ndm.ox.ac.uk, to develop a new vaccine for this disease.

We were motivated by my old @dunnschool.bsky.social neighbors, Shona Murphy and Dawn O’Reilly, who showed that these (falsely presumed) U1 pseudo genes may actually be functional in their 2013 Genome Res paper…
