I'll have much more to say later after my brain and body have recovered from the campaign, but I'm so appreciative of everyone who gave me their support to guide this awesome town for 4 years. I look forward to serving with this great crew. 1/
Glad to see more housing of more types coming to my sister town across the county. These 3 are going to do great work.

Yes! I absolutely love this message, @citybuilder.bsky.social!
Halloween turns streets into what they should be year-round: spaces for people (...and ghosts). 👻
It’s walkable urbanism dressed up as a holiday🎃

We are in America's darkest hour but the light is coming.

I'm honored to be the only Wendell candidate endorsed by @carolinaforward.bsky.social. Like me, they recognize that housing costs have skyrocketed well beyond incomes and that we need to build more housing.

I want to make sure people who are just looking for an affordable place to live are welcome in Wendell and that they can do more than just live here. I love the cool people and the cool businesses coming to our town and making it an even better place to be.

While introducing the racist, corrupt map, Sen. Ralph Hise said "I don't represent Democrats." Actually, he does. About 30,470 of them. But his quote is telling. Under rigged maps, he doesn't have to care about any votes but Republicans'. #ncga #ncpol

I'm out there almost every day talking to voters about their concerns and how we can make Wendell an even better place to live, work, shop, and have fun. One of the first doors I knocked was WUNC Capitol Bureau Chief Colin Campbell's, and I invited him to interview me.

Thanks to the Wake Weekly for covering the Wendell Chamber of Commerce forum the other night. I want to make sure people in my situation can still find a place in our community and afford to stay.

That's my AG @jeffjacksonnc.bsky.social! NC is joining 21 other states suing Trump's EPA for illegally cancelling over $150 million already appropriated to 12,500 poor North Carolinia families by Congress.

" @citybuilder.bsky.social believes that with better housing policy choices, Triangle cities will welcome new neighbors, build stability for all families & create a stronger future where everyone has a place to live."

💯 That's my mission in Wendell.

They refuse to pass a budget that provides for North Carolinians' urgent needs but it's amazing how quickly #NCGA GOP politicians come together to draw racist maps that take power from Black voters...2 years after they last did. When Trump says jump they ask how high. #ncpol

A big part of what attracted me to Wendell was its history & character. My house was built in 1941. The day I toured it, I ate lunch a few blocks away in downtown Wendell. I was struck that there were no chains occupying any of the historic buildings – just local businesses. 🧵

I want Wendell to be more than a bedroom community for Raleigh. That means attracting more major employers and dining & entertainment options so people can live, work, shop & play here rather than driving somewhere else.

For over 3 years, I've worked in environmental advocacy for @edfaction.bsky.social, and for 4.5 years before that, for @nclcv.bsky.social. Over a decade ago, I was on the committee making local endorsements for @sierraclubnc.bsky.social. So I'm thrilled to receive their endorsement in my campaign!

I've been friends with Sarah Crawford and her husband Dan for 12 years, and I used to work with Dan at @nclcv.bsky.social. Sarah grew up in Eastern Wake and went to East Wake High. She's a #NCGA leader, working across the aisle to improve outcomes for people. I'm honored to have her support!

Amen @ncgovernor.bsky.social! NC already has the most litigated and frequently redrawn maps in the country, and they're already an extreme GOP gerrymander. We need to take map drawing out of the hands of politicians who get elected under the lines they draw for themselves to hurt voters.

MAGA probably wants Lee Greenwood to headline the Super Bowl.

Today I toured the new waste-to-gas facility at the South Wake Landfill as part of my service on the @wakegov.bsky.social Energy Advisory Commission. 🧵

My friend Sagar Sane, a @ncstate.bsky.social MBA, hits the nail on the head. I'll do whatever it takes to land a @mlb.com expansion team in Raleigh, but we should minimize Wake County and NC taxpayer financing so we have more money for tix and merch.

I knew local news has been gobbled up by corporate behemoths but this is insane. 75 stations in the top 25 markets and WRAL is the only locally owned. Given what Nexstar, Tegna, Sinclair, and Disney did to Jimmy Kimmel, I'm glad we have at least one independent news source.

Coal is not only destructive to our health and the future of the human race on this planet but is economically nonviable, making this a massive waste of our tax dollars and our public lands.

I was appointed to the Wendell Downtown Development Cmte in 2022, and the first agenda item was shaping our social district. Now I want to bring more restaurants downtown by growing the Downtown Improvement Grant budget, preserving and activating more historic properties. @theassemblync.bsky.social

As town leaders we need to both speak up for those who can't and strive to get as representative a sample of public opinion as possible instead of just listening to those who show up every meeting. Government is all of us solving problems together that we can't on our own.
