Its very approachable to someone with a surface level understanding of the topic. Might be the intro article to atproto I’ll share with friends in the future. Kudos! 👍

I keep forgetting if we use tags here. #startups #softwareengineering

Is this open source by chance and do you need help? 👀

This is really cool, thanks!

Cheers. Seems like a good resource!

Cheers for this but what I’m thinking for is more in line of actual services making use of the protocol. Lexicons are rather records than applications.

For real. I miss some features from Facebook in the form of groups and events that I’d love to be able to build here. Audiences would be a huge addition but don’t know how viable they are in concept.

I’m hoping we’ll see something like this sooner rather than later.

After recent shows of billionare spine, this is a good take.

That’s my understanding as well.

I think its somewhat restricting credible application development on the protocol. There are massive benefits to having control over data-access.

You could use atproto as a database that references data elsewhere but that violates the concept a bit. #atdev

Follow up if everything is discoverable, doesn’t it somewhat devalue PDS if your data is open for scraping?

Thanks! I’ll have a look. I considered using @whtwnd.com as an option, but wanted to use this as an opportunity to learn some more about the protocol as well so building my own shitty copy seems tempting.

Is an extension possible, or should I create bluesky posts separately and refer to them from my own data models if I want to keep a reference. 🤔
December 13, 2024 at 7:24 PM
Probably need to force a little switch in thinking here. I’d like to build data-types that extend the formats used by Bluesky. Create a post on #atproto that’s visible on bluesky and show some extra info on another platform? #developers

I feel like I’m probably asking a dumb question here but I figured I might as well. 😅
