Cambodiana, in Berkeley CA, the most perfect sweet/hot flavor profile ever, in every dish. Lollipop pork chops; an incredible seafood stew; never had a bad meal there. Same first-generation Cambodian woman ran the place for decades, she retired and they closed about a month after we discovered them😭

Xanadu, Albany CA (in the East Bay). Terrible location, amazing food. Roasted smoky beef cubes cooked and served in a wok filled with red chile peppers; whole fish with sides cut in a waffle crosshatch, served upright so you could pull flakes out with chopsticks; I dream of their 3-spice milkshake.

Mel Brooks throwing multiple versions of “the gookie” (as Harpo called it) has absolutely made my day.

It is a flawless album, full stop. If you like the first minute, you will like the whole album, and hearing a track on shuffle will make you want to play the whole thing front to back.

And nothing else in their catalog hits as hard, by a good margin.

(We had some of that bombproof thick paper and my non-procrastinating family used it all up before I even got the scissors and tape out. There should be a lesson there but I won’t learn it 😂)

Wow. I’m not much for the fighting sports but I do know this: that is an absolutely *textbook* punch from Joshua to end this fight, my god. Check the rear camera angle. You can see the power behind the punch start from his right foot and travel all the way up through his hips and shoulders. Unreal!

When the sun returns, set it outside for a couple days. I had a used instrument shipped to me that absolutely reeked, two long days of sunlight and it was almost odorless.
