Barack Obama said he wanted to look forward and not relitigate the crimes of the Bush administration regarding torture and Guantanamo Bay. That allowed for the drone war to proliferate and for even more expansion of executive power under Trump.
There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.

I don't know if the Epstein vote is a one-off or not, but I've been thinkin of that very thin, translucent sticker film that comes when you order, say, a new monitor. It's devilishly hard to get the first little bit of the corner to separate but once you do, the entire thing pulls off very easily.

At this moment in time, this is where I hope we can come down on MGT. She has a long road to rehab. But I think that this is the right way. And that's the direction I'm leaning. Reserving the right to change my mind and go all "General Sherman in Atlanta" again.
She's going to have to row this boat by herself for a long time before I'm climbing in. But doesn't the theory go that everyone deserves a second chance? What are we to do with all of maga willing to come in out of the crazy? When apartheid ended, South Africans agreed to just move forward. Can we?
